Mini crane training

GGR-UNIC has always strived to improve health and safety practice with regard to the equipment it supplies. We are the first supplier in the market to provide an accredited training and assessment programme for this type of crane. The programme has been developed in conjunction with UNIC Cranes Europe, Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) and leading members of the plant hire and construction sectors to ensure it meets all the requirements expected. It is designed to provide the required base level of operational skills from which the new operator can safely and successfully increase their knowledge and experience.

The programme may include the following elements:

• Operator role and responsibilities
• Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental (Lifting Operations)
• Lifting principles, crane construction and terminology
• Lifting operations regulations and guidelines
• Pre-use checks and preparation for work
• Travelling and manoeuvring
• Configuring for lifting duties
• Lifting and placing loads using full radius and slewing capabilities
• Ongoing assessments and a final skills and knowledge test.

Successful achievement of the programme can lead to CPCS registration for the category of Compact Cranes (Static-stabilisers).

The training programme is carried out by experienced RTITB and CPCS instructors using purpose-built training facilities at the GGR-UNIC depots in Manchester and Long Crendon.
