Ask the experts Site surveys and technical support Our technical experts are the best people to ask about your lifting requirements. They will carry out a personal no obligation on-site survey to identify the best solution for your job. Expert obejctive technical advice and support is also available over the phone and where appropriate is available day and night. Service and maintenance All GGR vacuum lifters, overhang beams, robotas and cranes, whether purchased by customers, or part of our hire fleet, are serviced and repaired to the highest standards in Europe. Maintenance is carried out by our own highly experienced and qualified engineers. If repairs are necessary, only manufacturers’ genuine spare parts are used. When a thorough examination is carried out - as required by law - it is completed strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s own examination scheme. Our ‘in-house’ proof-testing facility enables GGR engineers to verify that each lifter will lift its certificated safe working load (SWL). Each is proof-tested to 150% of its SWL prior to dispatch. The test is recorded on the Report of Thorough Examination issued with the lifter. In our experience, most suppliers carry out proof tests with the vacuum pads in the horizontal plane. We believe we are unique in also testing our lifters in the vertical position. This takes into account both the weight of the load and the friction between pad and load which can vary due to ageing, UV exposure, etc. Importantly, this is the position in which most lifters will be used. Bespoke design and development As architectural trends evolve, increasingly there are occasions when an off-the-shelf lifter cannot perform the task required. However, our bespoke design and manufacture service means we can supply lifters specifically engineered for a ‘one-off’ job, or machines that can be used for common tasks that have previously required expensive and time-consuming alternatives. Our range of glazing robots was developed in response to individual construction challenges and now allows architect and contractor to achieve what was previously unviable. |
